Queste alcune brevi battute di Giampaolo Pazzini ai microfoni della stampa presso il Centro Tecnico Federale di Coverciano: "Essere qui - spiega l'ex attaccante della Fiorentina - è un sogno. Il coronamento di un momento molto felice. Mi sento un giocatore ritrovato, importante per la mia squadra. Prandelli ha detto di essere a mia disposizione se ne avessi bisogno? Spero che non serva, ma lo ringrazio. Con la Fiorentina è andata com'è andata, non so perché ma adesso penso solo alla Sampdoria. Problemi nello spogliatoio? Non lo so, dovete chiedere a chi c'è. Io non sono più in quel gruppo. Dico però che i conti si fanno solo alla fine perché la Fiorentina è in un'ottima posizione di classifica. Cassano? E' stato molto importante per me, anche se qualche gol me lo sono inventato anche da solo. Antono è un giocatore che fa esprimere un attaccante nel modo migliore. La sua non convocazione? E' una scelta del mister...".

Last year was supposed to be the year for Giampaolo Pazzini. He was a starting striker for Fiorentina, and everyone thought the time for him to show his quality had come. It went rather badly for him, but it has taken the youngster only two months at Sampdoria to get into the national side. Speaking to Sky from Italy’s training ground in Coverciano, he said, “Things have really changed, and coming back to Florence like this gives me real satisfaction. “I was here for four years and everyone treated me well, it became my home. “In football it often happens that people have to go their separate ways, and we must make our own choices.” Turning to the Azzurri, Pazzo thanked his team-mate Antonio Cassano, saying, “He is a great player and he helped me right from day one when I arrived. It is an honour to play alongside him. “He told me all his assists would get me here, and he was right. “It not for me to say if he should be here or not,” the 24-year-old concluded, “I only know that training with him everyday has made me see just how good he is, but the boss makes the decisions and they must be respected.” Simone Finaldi, Goal.com
